Apple Releases Two New iPhone 4S Ads: "Road Trip" and "Rock God"

Apple posted two new iPhone 4S television ads to its YouTube account this evening, "Road Trip" and "Rock God". Both ads showcase the various ways to use the iPhone 4S's Siri functionality to find directions, locate a restaurant, or send text messages.

There have been several other iPhone 4S ads previously. In December, Apple released an iPhone 4S ad featuring Santa Claus using his iPhone 4S to check the weather and his "schedule" as he delivered toys around the world. In October, just after the iPhone 4S went on sale, Apple aired an ad called "Assistant" which also featured Siri extensively.

Oppo has launched the Find N5, the world's thinnest foldable phone yet. When closed, the book-style foldable measures 8.93mm. I think I get it now.

Amazon Director: Show the phone a few times, but really just compare yourself to the competition and show why, even though the competitor has a better device, the consumer should go to your device. Use lots of irrelevant dialog in an exotic location like a beach.

Samsung Director: Insult the owners of the competitors device and make them question their purchase, show the phone a few times. Glee style dance routine.

Google Director: LOTS of flashing lights. Lots of cool music. A CG mockup of the phone but NOT the phone itself. The phone should be turned off. The user speaking into the device is shown in an elaborate visualization of sound waves. Lots of explosions at the end with aliens yelling 'droid'.

Apple Director: Show real life examples based on the phone the whole time. Appeal to the end user.

Also, I'm surprised that Apple would use "God" in a commercial. Between that and the Santa ad, I get the sense that some religious people could be put off.
You think too much. You ought to get a (simpler) life. :)

These make an emotional connection to the product, so no bashing of other products (or more importantly customers who possess those other products) needed to be made. Very nice.

I like how these commercials emphasize what Apple's products do. I hope Apple stays away from commercials that bash competitor's products. I don't like negative advertising. :D
